Fulham boss hits back at unhappy fans
Martin Jol admitted he was disappointed with the Fulham supporters who booed the team following the 1-1 draw with West Brom.
Some fans turned on manager Jol after the final whistle, and the Dutchman said he was perplexed by their reaction given that only four games of the league season have been played.
“They are disappointing, these people,” Jol said after his team conceded a stoppage-time equaliser.
“If we were bottom of the league I would understand it but we are 12th and a bit unfortunate – we should have more points than we do.
“I always say to the players it is hard to fight expectations – expectations can make you very unhappy.
“But if you look at the players I have got in – good players and better players than ever before – we are 12th in league and it is not a big problem with the quality we’ve got.”
Jol added: “We played against Arsenal and got a good result away at Sunderland but today we should have won the game.
“But are not bottom of the league with zero points. It is not the end of the world and it is disappointing that there are some people that think otherwise.”
