QPR and Rubin open talks over Granero
QPR have opened talks with Rubin Kazan over the possible sale of Esteban Granero to the Russian club.
Granero, 25, has failed to impress since his move from Real Madrid last year and is expected to leave relegated Rangers this summer.
A number of Spanish clubs have shown an interest but the first firm move has been made by Rubin, who are hoping to persuade him to join them.
The midfielder made 26 Premier League appearances last season, five of them as a substitute.
His only goal for Rangers came in their 3-2 defeat at West Brom last September.
Meanwhile, QPR are continuing to make progress in their attempt to bring in Danny Simpson.
The full-back, 26, has not been offered a new contract at Newcastle and R’s boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign him on a Bosman free transfer.
