QPR to make another attempt to sign Tottenham man – report
QPR are planning another attempt to sign Scott Parker from Tottenham, according to the Daily Mirror.
It is claimed that Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, who managed the midfielder while in charge at Spurs, is keen to take him to Loftus Road.
Former Chelsea and West Ham man Parker, 32, was Tony Fernandes’ first-choice signing when the Malaysian took over as QPR chairman in 2011 and the R’s made an unsuccessful attempt to buy him before eventually signing Joey Barton.
But it is claimed that Redknapp needs to persuade Fernandes to sanction a move for Parker, who struggled with injuries last season.
Aston Villa could lodge a £4m bid for Peterborough’s Dwight Gayle, who is said to be a target for QPR, according to the Daily Express.
Meanwhile, the Express tip Frank Lampard for a place in Chelsea’s starting line-up to face Benfica in Wednesday’s Europa League final.
