Benitez expects Mourinho to return
Rafael Benitez has hinted that he expects Jose Mourinho to return to Chelsea at the end of the season.
Former Blues boss Mourinho is the fans’ choice to take over and has hinted that he will leave Real Madrid for Stamford Bridge this summer.
And Benitez, whose eventful spell as Chelsea’s interim manager is coming to an end, seemingly believes the Portuguese’s return is inevitable.
He said: “The next year there will be another manager. I think everybody knows who will be here.”
Meanwhile, Eden Hazard is expected to be passed fit for Wednesday’s derby at home to rivals Tottenham after missing the Blues’ victory at Manchester United with a calf problem.
But John Obi Mikel, who also missed the match at Old Trafford, remains sidelined with a hip problem and Ryan Bertrand is unavailable because of a knee injury.
A win over fifth-placed Spurs would all but guarantee Chelsea’s qualification for next season’s Champions League.
