Harrison humiliated by hot prospect Wilder
Deontay Wilder easily saw off Audley Harrison, who lasted only 70 seconds against the American heavyweight prospect at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
As always, the 41-year-old former Olympic champion from Wembley promised a big performance.
But he was no match for a man who came to the ring with a 27-0 record, having knocked out all his opponents in the first four rounds.
And he dispatched Harrison in the first round, hurting him with the first meaningful punch of the fight – a thunderous right which staggered the Londoner.
Harrison managed to avoid a follow-up flurry of shots but was badly shaken and slumped to the floor.
He just about made the count but looked groggy and the referee opted not to let him continue.
Harrison, who argued that the fight should not have been stopped, hinted afterwards that he may now decide to retire.
