Hip condition could finish Zamora at QPR
Bobby Zamora has been told he could be finished at QPR unless he plays through the pain barrier next season.
If the striker, 32, has an operation on a chronic hip condition he will be sidelined for the whole of next term, after which his lucrative contract ends.
It is an outcome the club are reluctant to contemplate – and want Zamora to play on with a problem that has troubled him for some time.
The physically demanding Championship often involves two matches per week and, at best, Zamora will be seriously hampered and will have to be used sparingly.
But the alternative for Rangers, whose relegation from the top flight has all but been confirmed, may be for his career at Loftus Road to effectively end in May – only 16 months after his move from Fulham.
