Beard’s programme notes lead to reports that QPR may not sell players
QPR manager Harry Redknapp will not be forced to sell players in the summer, the Daily Mirror report.
The club were widely tipped to lose current members of the squad and make cutbacks once their relegation from the Premier League is confirmed.
But, quoting from Rangers chief executive Philip Beard’s programme notes for Saturday’s game against Stoke, it is now being suggested that under-contract players may stay.
Beard wrote: “We agreed that if we’re relegated, we have to bounce straight back.
“To do this, we need the strongest squad possible and for that reason every player under contract must stay unless we get the right offer and Harry agrees to let them go.
“The commitment of the shareholders, including Amit Bhatia, is clear for all to see, and despite what has been a desperately disappointing season, the long-term future is very bright.”

How can Philip Beard keep a straight face when opining that a squad simply not good enough for the Premiership would be up to the task of bouncing back? There has been no evidence of team spirit on the field nor atmosphere on the terraces since the needless and, in my view, premature dismissal of Warnock. ANY person with a say in the arrival of Hughes must take their fair share of the blame for that costly appointment and should have no further say or influence in future decisions of such magnitude. Provided, of course, that there IS a future for QPR.
