Benitez returns – and will Suarez or Torres end their goal drought?

Chelsea’s 3-0 win at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night has seen them cut to 1/7 to finish the season in the top four and 8/11 to finish as top London club.charlie-mcCann_Aff

The Blues were able to put behind their FA Cup semi-final disappointment, with captain John Terry back in the starting XI – and I wonder if even the stubborn Rafa Benitez now wishes Terry started at Wembley on Sunday?

Benitez will be lauded by the Kop before Sunday’s game against his former club Liverpool, but once the whistle goes the game is sure to be played with the intensity that reflects a game of this magnitude.

The Reds have underperformed this season, although they have played well on occasions – including in the 1-1 draw at the Bridge earlier in the season when Luis Suarez fell into Terry, injuring the former England skipper.

Liverpool are forlornly chasing a top-four finish (150/1 at BetVictor) and are 6/5 to take all three points as Benitez makes what is sure to be an emotional return to Merseyside.

Chelsea are 12/5 for the win, with the draw 12/5 and another 1-1 draw is 7/1.

Suarez is 19/4 to score the first goal, with Daniel Sturridge, who scored against another of his former clubs at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the season, 6s.

The returning Fernando Torres, meanwhile, is 7s.

It should be noted that Suarez has gone 429 minutes without a league goal and Torres 907 minutes.
