Chelsea set to open talks over Schurrle transfer – report

Chelsea are ready to open talks with Andre Schurrle about a £20m move to Stamford Bridge, the Daily Mirror say.

It is claimed that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has opened the cheque book for the Bayer Leverkusen forward and that discussions are set to take place this week.

Representatives of Schurrle are said to have attended the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley.

Chelsea were reported to have tried to buy the Germany international at the start of this season only for him to be priced out of a move.

But Schurrle is expected to be sold this summer and Abramovich is said to want the deal to be tied up quickly.

Meanwhile, Chelsea fans’ favourite Frank Lampard is again linked with a move to LA Galaxy, this time by the Daily Star.
