Chelsea v Man Utd player ratings

Chelsea will face Manchester City at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals after prevailing in Monday’s replay at Stamford Bridge. Here’s how we rated the players in their 1-0 victory.

Petr Cech: 9
Produced an absolutely breathtaking stop – surely one of the greatest FA Cup saves ever – to keep out Javier Hernandez’s header and preserve Chelsea’s lead. Also commanded his area very well in the all-important final stages.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 6
Had his hands full defensively but was solid enough.

Branislav Ivanovic: 8
Excellent at the heart of Chelsea’s defence, where he produced several important challenges and clearances.

David Luiz: 7
Also solid at the back and used the ball well.

Ashley Cole: 6
Injured midway through the first half. Will be missed if, as is expected, he is out for at least a couple of weeks.

John Obi Mikel: 7
Did very well in midfield, imposing himself in an area United often control to good effect.

Ramires: 7
Was relentless from start to finish and gave Patrice Evra problems when he attacked down the right.

Oscar: 6
Was caught in possession a few times but his clever movement gave United some problems.

Juan Mata: 7
Was quiet in spells but showed his quality by setting up the winning goal with a moment of typical class.

Eden Hazard: 8
Continued his excellent recent form. Stretched the visiting defence and was unlucky not to score with a second-half effort which went narrowly wide.

Demba Ba: 8
Struggled to get into the game in the first half but was a different player in the second, scoring a great goal and troubling the likes of Rio Ferdinand with his strength and movement.

Ryan Bertrand: 5
Struggled after replacing Cole. Offered little going forward and was caught out defensively a number of times.
