Remy’s in town but Hammers should still see off improving QPR

QPR travel to Upton Park on Saturday to meet a West Ham side that came within a whisker of an FA Cup shock against Manchester United two weeks ago but were poor against Sunderland last weekend.charlie-mcCann_Aff

The Irons will always be a tough nut at home and this is another barometer of the recent improvement in Rangers brought about by Harry Redknapp.

West Ham are 21/20 to win but they would have been much shorter odds before the Redknapp era, with the R’s 11/4 and the draw at 5/2.

Andy Carroll may well be back for the hosts and the on-loan Liverpool striker is 11/2 to score the opener with QPR’s new signing Loic  Remy 2/1 to score at anytime and 7s to grab the opening goal.

Remy has been introduced into the betting to be QPR’s top Premier League scorer this season.

He is at 10/1 with BetVictor – despite starting his Rangers career only four goals behind leader Adel Taarabt (2/1).

You can have Bobby Zamora, who is on the way back from injury, at 14/1.

We have also introduced a market on how many goals Remy will net between now and the end of the league season and bet 10/11 over 4.5 and 10/11 under 4.5.

We aren’t convinced he’s the catch many would have us believe.

Many bigger European clubs have looked at him in the past and he has been largely out of sorts for Marseille this season.

Rangers supporters will be hoping he rediscovers his goalscoring touch and helps keep the side in the Premier League. But how many will he net between now and the end of the campaign?

Chelsea threw away two points against Southampton on Wednesday night and their race looks to have been run in the hunt for the Premier League title.

I know it is sacrilege but I felt both Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole did little to suggest the Chelsea owner is making a mistake by not offering them another contract.

Lampard has been one of the great Chelsea players but time waits for no-one and good player though is still is, he is no longer one you can build a team around to win the Premier League.

Chelsea are 5/6 to beat Arsenal on Sunday with the Gunners 17/5 and the draw at 14/5.

The Blues are 2/7 to be top London club (Spurs 9/2 and Arsenal 5s) and 1/25 to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.

Demba Ba is 19/5 to score the opener on Sunday. Both teams to score is priced at 4/7 with one or neither side finding the back of the net at 5/4.

Fulham are 12/1 to pull off a shock win at the Etihad Stadium against a Manchester City side that finally showed their class with a 2-0 success against a bitterly disappointing Arsenal on Sunday.

City are 2/9 for the win with the draw at 11/2.
