QPR players told fans will ‘get the hump’ unless they battle
Harry Redknapp has told QPR’s under-performing players to fight for the cause or deservedly face the wrath of angry fans.
Bottom of the table and without a league win this season, Rangers face Aston Villa on Saturday in their first home match since Redknapp took over.
And the new manager says supporters have every right to demand more from the team as they battle to stay in the Premier League.
He said: “The fans will get behind us at home and make it an intimidating place if we put the effort in.
“If they see people chasing, working and closing down, they’ll get behind us. We need effort.
“But if they see people losing the ball and then standing around, they’re going to get the hump – because they’re paying their wages.
“They’ll think ‘hang on, what’s going on here?’ We need people who’ll have a go.”
