Rafael Benitez says Chelsea’s players need to play their part in helping Fernando Torres rediscover his best form.
Torres starred under Benitez at Liverpool, prompting suggestions that his fellow Spaniard may be able to turn his fortunes around at Stamford Bridge.
But the Blues interim boss insists the striker’s team-mates also have a role to play.
“I will to try to give him some confidence and improve him – along with the rest of the team,” Benitez explained.
“If you are strong in defence and can regain the ball easier, you will have more chances as you will have more possession, so that’s the idea.
“He can come back and improve, but the team has to help him.”
