Half-time: Spurs 0 QPR 1
Bobby Zamora’s goal gave QPR a deserved half-time lead at White Hart Lane after they had much the better of the opening period.
R’s boss Mark Hughes had a major reshuffling job to do in defence before kick-off with Anton Ferdinand, Armand Traore, Fabio and recent signing Stephane Mbia all ruled out with injuries.
And to make matters worse, Jose Bosingwa limped off in only the third minute after pulling up with what appeared to be a hamstring strain and was replaced by Kieron Dyer.
But it did not stop Rangers from threatening repeatedly on the counter-attack, and Zamora was able to fire home Alejandro Faurlin’s through-ball to put them ahead.
Adel Taraabt was also missing from the matchday squad after pulling up with a hamstring problem of his own in training on Friday.
QPR (4-5-1): Cesar; Onuoha, Hill, Nelsen, Bosingwa (Dyer 3); Faurlin, Granero; Wright-Phillips, Hoilett, Park; Zamora
