Fulham sign Berbatov and Richardson
Fulham have sealed the capture of Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United.
Berbatov, 31, has agreed a two-year contact with the Whites, who have also completed the signing of former United man Kieran Richardson from Sunderland.
A deal to sign Berbatov was struck on Thursday – just before the Bulgarian striker was due to fly to Italy to complete a move to Fiorentina.
He was surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and had been widely tipped to move on this summer, having made only five first-team appearances last season.
Juventus were also interested in signing him but he opted to remain in the Premier League.
Richardson, who has signed a three-year deal at Craven Cottage, was allowed to move on after the 27-year-old Londoner made it clear to Sunderland that he wanted to return to the capital.
