Villa ‘agree fee for Dempsey’

Fulham are reported to have agreed a fee with Aston Villa for Clint Dempsey.

The American is keen to move to Liverpool but the Anfield club are yet to table a bid for him.

It has been widely suggested that the possible sale of Reds midfielder Charlie Adam to Stoke could lead to Liverpool finally making an offer for Dempsey.

Sunderland have also expressed an interest in the 29-year-old forward, who has made it clear he wants to leave Craven Cottage.
