Jol confirms Dempsey wants to leave

Fulham manager Martin Jol has confirmed that Clint Dempsey wants to leave the club.

The 29-year-old United States international has been the subject of summer-long transfer speculation, and has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League opener against Norwich, Jol confirmed the player would not be in the Whites squad for the game and will move if a satisfactory offer is received.

Fulham defender Philippe Senderos will miss the Norwich game as he has a twisted ankle, while Kerim Frei is also out.
