Blues fall short in bid for Arsenal, Spurs and United target – report
The Daily Mail say Chelsea have been told they must double their bid for Robert Lewandowski, who is apparently also wanted by Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Chelsea are understood to have made an initial offer to Borussia Dortmund of £13m rising to £17m for the Poland striker, who has two years left on his contract.
The Independent report that Chelsea have signed 17-year old centre-back Emir Dautovic from Slovenia club Maribor in a £1m deal and are set to complete the signing of 15-year-old George Brady – nephew of West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady – from Cannes.
Meanwhile, QPR will have to pay a big fee for Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett, the Daily Mirror believe.
Rangers are set to seal the signing of Hoilett after seeing off competition from Newcastle and German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
It is claimed Rovers boss Steve Kean has warned that his club want at least £6m for Hoilett or Jamie Mackie in exchange.
Hoilett is out of contract but, at 22, cannot move on a Bosman-style free transfer so unless Blackburn accept an offer a fee will be set by a tribunal.
Mackie has recently been linked with a move to Ewood Park. QPR have insisted they are not looking to offload him.
