Forrester determined to answer Rosler’s fitness plea
Harry Forrester says he will answer his manager’s call to improve his fitness and become one of Brentford’s top players.
Forrester has struggled with bad conditioning and niggling injuries since moving to Griffin Park, but began to establish himself towards the end of the season.
Boss Uwe Rosler has called for the midfielder to hit the top six in the so-called bleep test during pre-season, and Forrester is keen to prove a point.
Forrester told West London Sport: “I don’t know about top six! But I know what the gaffer means – I need to be right up there and get fitter and stronger.
“Next year is the year for me. I’m going to give it a real go. If I get a good pre-season under my belt I know I can do the business on the field.
“The manager has had a word with me and I know if I come back fitter I’ve got the base for a good season. Hopefully I can play well next year and see where it takes us.”
The 21-year-old added: “It’s been well documented that I had less of a pre-season than everyone else and I’ve been playing catch-up all year.
“I think I’ve caught up. My performances have been good when I have played and I wanted to end the season on a high, which I have done.”
