‘No conversations’ about new QPR contract for Dunne
Jimmy Dunne says he has not discussed extending his QPR contract.
The defender’s deal is due to expire at the end of the season – Rangers took up an option to extend his contract by a year last summer.
Irishman Dunne, 27, said: “I’ve had no conversations. We’ll see what happens I suppose. I haven’t really thought about it.”
Dunne, whose father died earlier in the week, scored the opening goal in QPR’s 3-0 victory against Norwich City on Saturday.
Rangers’ first home win of the season lifted them out of the Championship relegation zone.
Since the squad was revamped during the summer, a number of the club’s signings have struggled and the absence of key players because of injury has also been a problem.
But Marti Cifuentes’ side are now unbeaten in their past four matches and have gone three without conceding a goal.
Dunne believes there were signs that the tide was turning.
“I think the momentum has been building because the performances had been good and we deserved better results,” he explained.
“We’ve played games where we’ve deserved three points. There’s just such fine margins,
“People forget we’re a new group and we’re still bonding relationships with players that have come in from all over Europe. It takes time but it looks like we’re getting there.”
