Betting on Blue: Top Tips and Odds for Chelsea FC’s Upcoming Matches
Today we are going to be taking a look at one of the hottest teams in the world of football right now and home to some of the top talent, and that of course is Chelsea. We are also going to have a look at their chances for the season ahead and if there’s any tips we can give you for betting on them, so that next time you look at the 18bet football betting odds you can then establish as to whether that is a good price or not to have a bet on. The team are based in London and of course play at Stamford Bridge in Fulham. They were founded in March 1905 and have played in the top flight of English football for 119 years since. They have a rich history including having won every single competitive trophy there is to win.
How did they do last season?
Although moving away from their history, we are now moving to the present day. Unfortunately it has been a while since they have lifted the Premier League, which was back in 2017. In fact, the last time they won any trophy was back in 2021, when they became the first team to lift the FIFA World Club Cup. And last season was very disappointing for the blues, finishing in the bottom half of the table in 12th position on 44 points below Crystal Palace and above Wolves. And so a lot of fans are hoping for a much bigger improvement this season.
Palmers stand out performance
Some good news from last season however was the performance of starlet Cole Palmer, who they signed from rivals Manchester City and who has also shone at the Euro 2024 Championship side for England. He scored an impressive 27 goals for the club last season, with 22 of these being in the Premier League, 1 in the FA Cup, 2 in the EFL Cup, 1 in the UEFA Super Cup and 1 in the Community Shield. After not getting the exposure to game time he needed at Manchester City, he was keen to impress at Chelsea and he certainly did that, quickly becoming a favourite amongst the fans.
Odds of lifting the title
And so what are the odds on Tuchel leading the blues to their first Premier League title in ⅞ years? Well if you look around the bookies at the moment you will most likely get around 28/1 for Chelsea to lift the Premier League title which isn’t good at all, but after the blues fall from grace this is understandable. The blues start off this season on Sunday 18th August with a game that they’re probably happy to get out of the way and that of course is against Manchester City who are the defending champions of the Premier League having pipped Liverpool and Arsenal to it in a three way race.
In Summary
There is ample time for the blues to make some more signing as they look to make sure they have as strong a squad as possible so that they can improve on last season and make a challenge at least for the top 4 so they can get themselves back in the Champions League, or if not to challenge for the title itself. It’s going to be exciting also to see if Cole Palmer off the back of his performance in the Euros can keep up the tempo that he had from last season and if he can also increase the number of goals that he scores as the starlets starts to excel into his peak and doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon.
