Maatsen and Ziyech complete moves

Ian Maatsen has completed a move from Chelsea to Aston Villa for £35m, while Hakim Ziyech has completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray.

Maatsen, 22, was signed from PSV Eindhoven in 2019 and spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, helping the Bundesliga club to reach the Champions League final.

The left-back, who is with the Netherlands at Euro 2024, was on loan at Burnley the season before last and helped them win promotion to the Premier League. Prior to that, he had spells on loan at Coventry and Charlton.

He made 16 first-team appearances for Chelsea, with all but one of them coming last season.

Ziyech, 31, was signed by the Blues from Ajax in 2020 and made 107 appearances for the club.

He spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and the Turkish outfit were widely expected to take up an option to sign him permanently.
