Youngster Webster joins Robinson at Burton
Young midfielder Charlie Webster has left Chelsea after more than 10 years at the club.
Webster, 20, has signed for League One club Burton Albion on a three-year contract.
He has been at Chelsea since Under-10 level and was a substitute for the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Brentford in December 2021.
Webster was on loan at Dutch club Heerenveen last season and has played for England’s youth sides at a number of age levels.
He will be reunited with Mark Robinson, who recently left his coaching role at Chelsea to take over as Burton’s head coach.
Webster said: “Regular men’s football is something I’m always aspiring to play and this is a really good stage for me to go and show what I can do.
“When I knew Mark Robinson was going to become head coach here it was a big thing for me. At Chelsea we had a great relationship.
“He’s a guy who has really strong morals and values and really cares about his players which I think is the most important thing.”
