QPR boss insists job is not done despite vital win
Marti Cifuentes insisted the battle for Championship survival is not over after QPR won at Swansea to move six points clear of the relegation zone.
Steve Cook’s second goal in as many matches secured a vital victory for Rangers, moving them up to 16th in the table.
But boss Cifuentes said: “I know that we need more points. When I see the table I see that we need to collect more points.
“We’re in a good moment of course – the team is improving, getting better, stronger and feeling good – but we need to be very aware that there are six games left and we need to pick up more points.
“We need to be very humble. At this stage of the season it’s a big battle. We need to keep working. We will not stop.”
Cifuentes made five changes to the starting line-up, including a recall for the fit-again Morgan Fox, who was given the nod ahead of Ziyad Larkeche to replace the ill Kenneth Paal.
Cifuentes explained: “It was about understanding what we needed to do.
“I think Swansea had about 45 or 50 crosses into the box and that’s one of the reasons why today we wanted to play with this back four.
“When they arrive in the last third the main thing is for them to cross and I think we did a good job defending it.”

Swansea has a good ability to make decent crosses, so it was essential to try and prevent as many as possible and, equally, defend well the crosses they achieved. I think the defending today was superb by the defenders, and when Willock came on his defending was far better. I agree we are not there yet, but we are in a far better place now than other relegation candidates – we have points!
