Mauricio Pochettino 9/2 to lose his job

Mauricio Pochettino who just last week was facing increased speculation about his future, with soccer betting sites shortening his odds to 2/1 to become the next Premier League manager to depart this season. Despite significant investments in players, Pochettino has been unable to steer the club to success this season.

While Chelsea’s recent 6-1 victory over Middlesbrough secured their spot in the EFL Cup final, their last two Premier League matches ended in heavy defeats, losing 4-1 to Liverpool and suffering another 4-0 loss to Wolves at Stamford Bridge. These disappointing results have caused Pochettino’s odds to plummet from 25/1 to 2/1.

However, with the recent wins against Aston Vila and Crystal Palace, the Argentinian’s odds have improved to 9/2.

Currently, only Roy Hodgson, the manager of Crystal Palace, has shorter odds than Pochettino, sitting at events. Following recent loss to Brighton and Chelsea, Hodgson’s position has come under increased scrutiny, with reports suggesting that the club’s chairman is considering a change, although nothing is imminent. Erik ten Hag, previously a frontrunner alongside Hodgson, has now moved behind Pochettino in the odds.

David Moyes has also experienced a shift in his odds, now standing at 9/1. West Ham’s remains inconsistent, highlighted by their 6-0 hammering at the hands of Arsenal.

Vincent Kompany, the manager of Burnley, has seen his odds shorten to 12/1 after a draw against Fulham and a loss to Liverpool. With Burnley’s precarious position in the league, relegation concerns loom large.

On the other hand, Marco Silva of Fulham has seen his odds lengthen to 20/1 due to a string of poor results, including elimination from cup competitions and a run of one win in six league matches.

Roberto De Zerbi, linked with Liverpool following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement of his departure, has seen his odds shorten to 25/1 from 100/1 in January.

Overall, the managerial landscape in the Premier League remains unpredictable, with several managers facing increased pressure as the season progresses.
