QPR hope Dykes and Willock return for Boro game
Gareth Ainsworth says Lyndon Dykes and Chris Willock are on course to return to the QPR squad for the trip to Middlesbrough this weekend.
Willock’s fitness continues to be an issue, while striker Dykes has not featured since limping off with a knee injury during the recent Carabao Cup defeat by Norwich.
Boss Ainsworth hoped Dykes might return for Saturday’s game at Southampton, where Rangers were beaten 2-1.
Willock was not involved at St Mary’s after failing a fitness test.
Ainsworth said: “Lyndon will hopefully be involved this week. He was close (to playing at Southampton).
“Chris Willock came off at half-time last week because there was a risk of a recurring injury, and he didn’t pass a fitness test for this week, so he’ll be back next week.
“He was really close. Him and Lyndon were both very close to making the trip to Southampton.”
Jimmy Dunne remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, Ainsworth has predicted that Rangers will go on a “winning streak” after being unlucky in recent losses to Southampton and Ipswich.

The thing is,the squad far too thin on the ground, especially up front. Unlike the ‘bus stop’, we seem scared stiff to spend anything these days. If they can achieve the giddy heights in the premiership AND get a new stadium whilst staying on the right side of FFP – why cant we? maybe with us the will is just not there.

I like the signings we need a few more but they must be ready for the championship fight. If this happens then I think like the manager we could surprise the league where what we can achieve.
The signings Remind me of Warnocks mix of hungry and experience signings !!
