Chelsea defender Koulibaly ‘out for weeks’
Kalidou Koulibaly has been ruled out of Chelsea’s game against Brighton and will also miss next week’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid.
The defender went off with a hamstring injury during this week’s first-leg defeat by Real and will be unavailable for “weeks rather than days” according to Blues interim boss Frank Lampard.
Lampard added: “He is a very good and experienced player and, when you are working on something and do not have loads of cover, of course it’s a disappointment for him and us.
“Hopefully he gets fit as quickly as he can.”
The Senegal international has featured in 31 of Chelsea’s 41 matches this season.
