Brentford sign young striker Vine

Brentford have signed young striker Lucian Vine.

Vine, 18, has been brought in to play for the club’s B team and has been given a one-year contract with the option of a further year.

He was most recently with Aldershot Town and has had trials at Bristol City and Bolton.

He is the son of Rowan Vine, who spent almost five years with QPR and also played on loan for Brentford.

The youngster has been snapped up after impressing while on trial with the Bees.

B team head coach Neil MacFarlane told the club website: “Lucias did particularly well for us on trial.

“He is a strong player who brings good link play to the team as he brings other players into the game, which is a really good asset.

“We feel that we can develop him over the course of the season, as we have done with our strikers in previous years.

“We’ll continue to push him to try and get him into a really good position and we look forward to working with him.”
