Young keeper Wady signs new Chelsea contract and joins Cards on loan
Young Chelsea goalkeeper Ethan Wady has signed a new one-year contract and joined non-League Woking on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old American was signed by the Blues in 2017 after moving to London from North Carolina.
His move to the Cards means a fourth spell out on loan – he has previously been with Tooting & Mitcham United, Dartford and Hendon.
“Ethan is a very ambitious young man,” Woking manager Darren Sarll told the Surrey club’s website.
“The one thing you identify with him straightaway, as you look at his pathway, is how he has always chosen to take the uncomfortable route. There is never a comfort zone you can identify with this young player.
“He has always chosen to go out and play in environments that are a lot different to his academy background, so that must be admired.”
