Romelu Lukaku is Set to Leave Chelsea and Rejoin Inter After the Loan Fee Agreed

Romelu Lukaku’s loan from Internazionale to Chelsea has been agreed upon in principle. After a rough year at Stamford Bridge, the striker, who cost £97.5 million, wants to return to Italy, and the deal is almost done.

Since last week, Inter and Chelsea have been in talks about the loan agreement. The transfer news and the NFL Point Spreads related have been popular attracting interest from all players. Chelsea wanted a loan fee of €10 million-plus add-ons, but their Italian rivals accepted an offer of €8 million-plus add-ons.

There is no obligation or option to extend the loan past the first year, and Lukaku has agreed to take a pay cut to make a move possible.

New Signings?

Because he couldn’t play Thomas Tuchel’s way, Chelsea has decided to move their record signing. Tuchel and Lukaku don’t get along well. Lukaku wants to rebuild his attack and has been pushing to go back to Inter since the end of the season.

The transfer was approved by Chelsea’s new co-owner, Todd Boehly, after talking to both Tuchel and Lukaku. Boehly wants to be Tuchel’s football fan, and he doesn’t see why the team should keep an unhappy player.

The deal will likely be made official today, as long as the Belgian international passes a medical exam. Inter won the Serie A title in 2021 because of Lukaku’s goals. But Inter had to sell the club last summer because they couldn’t pay for it. 

They can’t sign the Chelsea midfielder, who is 29 years old and makes £325,000 weekly.

After Romelu Lukaku leaves Chelsea, the club will move faster on its transfer plans. They are interested in Richarlison of Everton, Raheem Sterling of Manchester City, Ousmane Dembélé of Barcelona, and Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig.

Chelsea is keeping an eye on Lens defender Jonathan Clauss, who could back up right winger Reece James. The France international, who is 29 years old, will be a free agent in 2019, and Atletico Madrid has been mentioned as a possible destination.

Back Home To Milan

Since last season, Chelsea’s best forward has been refusing to play for the Blues. He has now signed a contract with the team. The deal is based on a loan, though, and the Blues are happy to loan Romelu Lukaku back to the Italian club.

But the Belgian international player’s attempt to move from Chelsea to Inter failed.

However, he will return to the Serie A club after a bad season. Lukaku’s loan price is about 8 million euros, which is about £6.9 million. So, Lukaku will leave Chelsea before the start of the new season.

Last season, the Belgian player scored 15 goals for Chelsea in all competitions. He scored eight goals in 26 Premier League games. People say that Lukaku was willing to take a pay cut to go back to Inter, where he was the offensive captain when they won the Serie A title in 2020-21.

The Italian club was in bad financial shape and couldn’t match Lukaku’s salary or sign the top player. On the other hand, President Steven Zhang was involved in the talks that took place on Monday.

Lukaku signed a five-year deal to come back to Stamford Bridge last summer. He left Chelsea in 2014 to join Everton for £28 million. Even though he cost £97,5 million, a club record, he didn’t live up to the hype.

He did, however, express remorse for a lengthy interview in which he expressed dissatisfaction even though he didn’t like his life under Thomas Tuchel’s rule and wanted to return to Italy.

As Chelsea’s season fell apart, Lukaku scored three goals in his last 15 Premier League games. Liverpool won the FA Cup and League Cup finals on penalties, but Tuchel’s team finished third in the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Last year, Inter finished second in Serie A, just two points behind AC Milan, which is also from the same city. Paulo Dybala, a forward for Juventus, is also being talked about.

When his contract ends at the end of the month, the 28-year-old Argentine international will be able to play for any team he wants.

Because of this, both Lukaku (on loan) and Dybala might join Inter in the summer.
