QPR striker Lyndon Dykes will have a scan after picking up a knock which forced him to miss the 1-1 draw with Hull City.

With wing-backs Lee Wallace and Sam McCallum also not involved, boss Mark Warburton opted to start with Chris Willock on the flank.

McCallum is due to play 90 minutes on Tuesday for the Under-23s – so has effectively been ruled out of a first-team return against Blackpool the following evening – while Wallace has suffered a “low grade” strain to his groin and is only expected to miss one or two games.


“He’s taken a knock. I don’t know – we’ll see how he is,” Warburton said of Dykes.

“He’ll have a scan to make sure he’s OK. It’s six games in 17 days and we’re going to have casualties.

“Sam McCallum has had surgery and he’s been out for several months. These boys can’t be rushed back.

“You saw when he came back from injury previously and he ruptured a hamstring. That’s the consequence, so we’ve got to look after him.”
