Lukaku could be dropped for Liverpool game, Sunday Telegraph say
Thomas Tuchel could drop Romelu Lukaku for Chelsea’s game against Liverpool, the Sunday Telegraph say.
The newspaper suggest Lukaku might be left out as punishment for his comments in an Italian television interview in which he said he was unhappy at Chelsea and keen to return to Inter Milan.
The interview was recorded prior to Lukaku’s recent return to the side and Blues boss Tuchel this week suggested that the striker’s comments have been somewhat taken out of context.
But Tuchel admitted he and Chelsea were “not happy” about the interview – and also did not rule out disciplinary action being taken.
That has led to speculation that Lukaku could be axed for the game at Stamford Bridge.
The Sunday Telegraph also suggest that Everton could allow Lucas Digne to leave on loan this month now they have signed Vitaliy Mykolenko to replace him.
Digne, who is out of favour at Goodison Park, has been linked with a loan move to Chelsea but the Merseyside club were previously reported to be reluctant to agree a loan deal.
Meanwhile, French giants Paris St-Germain want Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, it’s claimed.
Gallagher has impressed at Crystal Palace, where he is on a season-long loan.
The Sun on Sunday declare that PSG will move for him either this month, depending on the terms of his loan deal at Palace, or wait until the summer.
And Chelsea could sell Hakim Ziyech, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley to raise funds for January signings, again according to The Sun on Sunday.
