QPR assessing injuries to De Wijs and Ball

QPR are assessing injuries Jordy de Wijs and Dominic Ball picked up during their 1-1 draw at Reading.

De Wijs, who has impressed since recovering from a calf problem, went off with a groin injury during the second half.

And Ball, who came on as a substitute, had to go off late on after taking a heavy knock to his hip.

Manager Mark Warburton said: “Jordy just tweaked a groin.

“He had it manipulated at half-time and hoped he’d get through OK. But he stretched at a set-piece and felt it, so we had to be careful.

“Dom came on and did really well but got an impact injury on his hip which he thought he could run off, but it was causing him a lot of pain.

“He’s having ice now and we’ll assess them. It’s the nature of the game.”

Warburton also insisted his decision to take off Charlie Austin and Ilias Chair in a double substitution was vindicated.
