Chelsea plan new deal for Christensen, Telegraph say

A look at stories involving Chelsea in Monday’s newspapers…

Chelsea plan to offer Andreas Christensen a new contract, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Christensen has been hugely impressive since replacing the injured Thiago Silva at the heart of the Blues defence.

There had previously been speculation over the Dane’s future but he has been a key player in Chelsea’s fine run under boss Thomas Tuchel.

The Telegraph say the club plan to reward Christensen with an improved deal to ensure he remains at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Reece James has no problem with Tuchel’s rotation policy.

James has been in and out of the team in recent weeks, with Callum Hudson-Odoi also featuring at right wing-back.

“When you’re in a top team, you can’t always play,” James said.

“You have to keep working hard. He’s the manager, I have to respect his decisions.”

And The Sun say midfielder Luke McCormick could join Millwall from Chelsea at the end of the season.

McCormick, 22, has impressed while on loan at Bristol Rovers.

He is under contract until 2022 but it is claimed that he could leave Chelsea this summer and that Millwall would be keen to snap him up.
