De Wijs and Taylor-Crossdale play in QPR Under-23 game

QPR: Harlington training ground
Jordy de Wijs and Martell Taylor-Crossdale both featured for QPR’s development side on Tuesday afternoon.

It was Dutch defender De Wijs’ second outing since recovering from a calf injury and Fulham striker Taylor-Crossdale’s second since joining the R’s on trial.

As planned, De Wijs played 75 minutes of the game at Rangers’ Harlington training ground.

Former Chelsea youngster Taylor-Crossdale, 21, hit the bar after coming on as a second-half substitute.

The visitors came from behind to win 2-1 after midfielder Stephen Duke-McKenna had given QPR a first-half lead.

De Wijs has yet to make a first-team appearance since his arrival on loan from Hull six weeks ago but is expected to be in the squad for this weekend’s game against Bristol City.

Taylor-Crossdale was highly regarded at Chelsea and turned down a move to German club Hoffenheim to join Fulham on a two-year contract in July 2019.

But his introduction as an 89th-minute substitute during a Carabao Cup tie against Southampton the following month is his only appearance for Fulham, who seem ready to let him go.
