Drogba: We learnt the lessons of 2009
Chelsea’s matchwinner Didier Drogba declared after his side’s 1-0 win against Barcelona that they had learned from their painful 2009 defeat to the Catalan giants.
The memory of that last-gasp loss still haunts Chelsea fans, but Drogba’s goal means they have every reason to believe their team can overcome Pep Guardiola’s men in next week’s second leg and reach the Champions League final.
“We have learned and we have improved from three years ago because we didn’t concede,” Drogba told ITV.
“The result is a good one and we will go there and try to score another goal. The most important thing is to win the second leg.”
