QPR lining Barnes up for another loan move

QPR are looking for another club to loan Dillon Barnes to following the goalkeeper’s return from Hibernian.

Reports emanating from Scotland have suggested that Barnes was recalled because of supposed interest in QPR’s Seny Dieng.


It follows reports that Arsenal and Leeds are interested in the Swiss keeper.

But it was Barnes’ lack of first-team action which prompted Rangers to take up their option to cut short his season-long loan.

Barnes, 24, made just four league appearances during his time north of the border.

All of those outings – the most recent coming against Livingston on Saturday – came after an injury to Hibs’ first-choice keeper Ofir Marciano.

With Marciano likely to be restored to the side when he is fit again, QPR decided to take Barnes back to west London with a view to arranging another loan move.

Meanwhile, talks between Rangers and Doncaster are ongoing over a potential deal for Joe Lumley to remain with the Yorkshire club.

Lumley, who lost his place in the QPR side to Dieng, has been playing on loan at Doncaster since 20 November.
