Chelsea are underdogs against Spurs, while QPR need a point
Chelsea begin their quest for an FA Cup/Champions League double at Wembley on Sunday evening when they meet Tottenham for a place in next month’s FA Cup Final.
Neither side comes into the game in a rich vein of form with the north London Club losing at home to Norwich on Monday and Chelsea limping over the line against Wigan before being held at Craven Cottage in the west London derby.
As well as betting on the games we have been asking punters to name the FA Cup finalists later in the month and bet:
Liverpool v Spurs 23/10
Liverpool v Chelsea 23/10
Chelsea v Everton 3/1
Spurs v Everton 3/1
Spurs are 13/8 favourites to win in 90 minutes with Chelsea 15/8 and the draw 23/10.
We’re not convinced Chelsea will appreciate another half an hour ahead of Barca coming to the Bridge on Wednesday and if they can keep Gareth Bale quiet they should have enough.
We are top price on all the first goalscorers with Emmanuel Adebayor 13/2, Fernando Torres 7/1, Jermain Defoe and Louis Saha 15/2 and Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard 8s.
We believe the winner of the FA Cup is more likely to come from Sunday’s semi than Saturday’s and make Chelsea & Spurs 5/2 to lift the cup with Liverpool 11/4 and Everton 3/1 outsiders.
Fulham are not in action this weekend but Rangers travel to The Hawthorns on the back of an excellent 3-0 win against an impotent Swansea side on Wednesday.
The win took the R’s two points above the drop zone but with Spurs, Chelsea and Man City in their last four games they need a minimum of a point against the Baggies.
Albion are 21/20 to take all three points with the Hoops 27/10 and the draw at 12/5.
Albion were thrashed at the Etihad Stadium in midweek and have only won one of their last six so Rangers have little to fear.
Both teams to score is 4/6 with one or fewer 11/10. I expect goals and the hope is that Rangers ease to a 3-1 win, which is priced at 33/1.
The greatest horserace in the world, the Grand National, is the other sporting highlight.
Last year we broke new ground and bet ¼ odds 6 places on the great race and the favourite The Midnight Club finished 6th.
I can’t imagine why but the brains trust have decided once again we will be betting 6 places on the race and this will be from the 48-hour declaration stage on Thursday at betvictor.com or via your mobile at www.betvictor.mobile
