Chelsea ‘in a good place’ ahead of tonight’s big game
Roberto Di Matteo says Chelsea are relishing their demanding end to the season and will cope with the fixture pile-up ahead.
They face Benfica tonight at Stamford Bridge, where a draw would be enough to take them into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
It would also mean the Blues will play at least 11 matches in the space of 40 days – more if they progress to the European or FA Cup final.
But interim boss Di Matteo insists they are ready for the challenge.
He said: “It’s demanding for the players at the moment, but fortunately we are in a really good place because all the players seem to be available and that will help us.
“There are a lot of clubs that would like to have so many games and be involved in these competitions. We will just keep going and trying to win something.”
