Boss Rosler hails Brentford’s spirit

Manager Uwe Rosler hailed Brentford’s team spirit after they beat Oldham to record a fourth consecutive victory and move to within five points of the play-off places.

The Bees’ chances of a top-six finish looked remote after a recent run of three straight defeats.

But they are still in the race after an upturn in their fortunes and Tuesday night’s win, which was secured by goals from Marcus Bean and Niall McGinn, added to their growing momentum.

“There’s much more belief in the camp now. There’s real positivity and we’re just striving on,” said Rosler.

“There are some tired legs, which I totally understand, but there’s a good spirit within the team and that will help us when legs and minds get tired.

“Overall, I’m very happy. We said we wanted to make our two recent away wins count with a home win. We have momentum and that’s important.

“You can’t always expect the perfect performance. It was a professional performance and it was very nice to get a win and three points.”
