Chelsea assessing injured duo

Chelsea are this morning assessing the fitness of Didier Drogba and David Luiz, who are both doubtful for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Benfica.

Defender Luiz had to come off during the first half of Saturday’s 4-2 victory at Aston Villa after picking up an injury.

Drogba was forced to miss the game at Villa Park because of a foot problem.

Interim boss Roberto Di Matteo said: “We have a few niggling injuries and also I have to look at the freshness of the team as we’re playing every three days.”
