Chelsea star Kante struggling with new injury

N’Golo Kante is struggling with a new injury and is a doubt for Chelsea’s game against Norwich on Saturday.

Boss Frank Lampard revealed at a news conference on Friday that Kante, recently back after a knee problem, has suffered an apparent ankle sprain.

Kante will be assessed ahead of the game at Carrow Road, while Antonio Rudiger returned will not be involved.

Defender Rudiger has been recovering from a knee problem and returned to action for Chelsea’s development side this week.

But this weekend’s game comes too soon for the German to be considered for selection.

Lampard said: “N’Golo has got an injury that he’s carried all week. We’re going to assess that over the next 24 hours.

“Rudiger is not there yet. Hopefully next week.”

Pedro missed training earlier this week because of a slight knock but has since trained and is expected to be available against the Canaries.
