QPR’s unbeaten start to the season was ended by Bristol City. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-0 defeat at Ashton Gate.
Joe Lumley: 5
His terrible mistake led to the second goal and he could arguably have done better for the first. His place must now be under serious threat.
Angel Rangel: 6
Solid before being replaced by the more dynamic Todd Kane – which was surely a sign of things to come.
Yoann Barbet: 6
A decent showing but Bristol City’s pressing made it tough for him to build from the back.
Grant Hall: 6
Unlucky when his header away was half-volleyed in by Adam Nagy for the opening goal. A Hall header at the other end led to Jordan Hugill going close to equalising.
Ryan Manning: 6
Solid at left-back and as usual always looked to get forward. His corner resulted in Hall teeing up Hugill.
Geoff Cameron: 6
A strong presence in front of the back four. Kept things ticking over nicely during an opening half an hour in which Rangers were arguably the better side.
Matt Smith: 6
Competed well in midfield before being sacrificed for the more attacking Ilias Chair as Rangers looked for an equaliser.
Bright Osayi-Samuel: 7
Always lively. Created a chance for Hugill by getting to the byline and pulling the ball back, but the striker fired over.
Luke Amos: 7
Very good in the first half. Twice robbed Kasey Palmer, with the second interception leading to a chance for Hugill. Very quick to close down and used the ball well.
Ebere Eze: 6
Had his moments, including one cheeky nutmeg and threatening run. But he faded in the second half before being taken off.
Jordan Hugill: 5
Not a good day for the on-loan West Ham man. Shot over when a decent chance came his way and was also denied by a fine save from keeper Daniel Bentley, who tipped over his second-half header.
Ilias Chair: 6
Brought on in an attacking change by boss Mark Warburton in an attempt to find an equaliser – only for Rangers to concede again less than a minute after the substitution. Chair did well, showing his skill and having an effort saved by Bentley. But some of his deliveries into the box were poor.
Todd Kane: 6
Offers more pace and energy than Rangel and seems likely to take the veteran’s place sooner rather than later.
Nahki Wells: 6
Tried to make something happen after replacing Eze, but by then the game was lost.
