Roman ‘to offer Pep £40m deal’

Roman Abramovich is ready to offer Pep Guardiola a four-year deal worth £40m – after tax – to become Chelsea manager, The Sun say.

Abramovich is believed to be keen to appoint Guardiola.

The Blues owner is reportedly refusing to give up in his quest to lure the Barcelona boss to Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Mail report that Barca are preparing to table a £35m bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Meanwhile, former QPR starlet Raheem Sterling could quit Liverpool this summer and return to London, according to the Daily Mirror.

Sterling, who is rated as one of the country’s best young players, grew up in Harlesden and spent seven years with Rangers before being snapped up by Liverpool in 2010.

It is claimed that his mother is concerned about his lack of progress and wants the family to return to the capital.
