Defender a doubt for Spurs clash

Chelsea are assessing a thigh injury suffered by defender Branislav Ivanovic against Manchester City.

Ivanovic limped off during the Blues’ 2-1 defeat at Eastlands and is a doubt for this weekend’s clash with London rivals Tottenham.

“He complained of a tight muscle and we’ll have to see how he is,” said interim boss Roberto Di Matteo.

Skipper John Terry, who did not feature against City, is expected to be passed fit for the Spurs game.
