Swansea v QPR player ratings
QPR’s troubled season continued with another defeat – this time at the hands of Swansea City. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 3-0 reverse at the Liberty Stadium.
Joe Lumley: 6
Flapped at a couple of high balls and generally looked unconvincing at times. But he did produce an excellent first-half save to deny Courtney Baker-Richardson after Ebere Eze had given the ball away.
Angel Rangel: 6
Beaten in the build up to the first goal but did pretty well against his former club. Showed excellent reading of the game on several occasions when he drifted in from right-back to make crucial interceptions, the pick of the bunch being to thwart Connor Roberts.
Alex Baptiste: 6
Kept his place because of an injury to Toni Leistner. Baptiste did a solid job in defence, as he does more often than not.
Joel Lynch: 6
Showed good tenacity and won several challenges, including when he saved the day after a rare mistake by Baptiste. But the lack of protection offered by his midfield made his job tough and his performance deteriorated in the second half.
Jake Bidwell: 5
Was neither one thing nor the other. Didn’t have a great game defensively and didn’t have enough about him to get forward and capitalise on spaces Freeman was creating by moving inside.
Ebere Eze: 5
Not a good day for the Rangers youngster. A lovely second-half ball for Nahki Wells aside, he made very little impact. He also gave the ball away a number of times, including when he lost possession four minutes before half-time and his blushes were spared by Lumley’s fine save.
Geoff Cameron: 5
A very disappointing performance indeed from the experienced on-loan Stoke man, of whom much is expected. He was slow, ponderous and gave the ball away sloppily several times.
Massimo Luongo: 6
Very good in the opening half an hour or so, when he missed a good chance by firing into the side netting and created a couple of openings himself, one with a lovely ball to Wells. But he faded after that.
Luke Freeman: 5
Picks up areas of space in the wide-of-centre role boss Steve McClaren has been deploying him in, but overall he doesn’t look as effective as he did in a midfield three last season. Totally lost in the second half.
Nahki Wells: 6
Still working hard up front, but still without a goal since his loan move. Rushed a decent chance after being set up by Tomer Hemed.
Tomer Hemed: 6
Some nice link-up play and always willing to press from the front. But the lack of service into him was truly shocking for large periods of the match.
Matt Smith: 6
Made no real impression after coming on for Eze midway through the second half.

AsMclaren not seen that Lluongo is out for a Sunday stroll. Eze and Freeman have got to be played in the middle behind the strikers where they are most effective. As for Wells I would play Matt Smith up front with because he provides a physical presence and Wells looks low on confidence and ability. Teams are passing us to death and our two creative players are deployed wide.

Can someone explain the logic of 87th minute substitutions when we were 3-0 down?
ps: More of the same on Tuesday?
