Eze praised for displays on the wing
Steve McClaren has praised Ebere Eze for his recent performances on the wing for QPR.
The Rangers number 10 has had to adapt to a change of formation by manager McClaren, who has switched to a 4-4-2 system for the past two games.
And McClaren believes Eze deserves credit for carrying out his defensive duties in the new role.
He said: “Eze has great talent but he did great work off the ball in terms of helping the team defend.
“We’re asking him to do that and it’s important that he does that in terms of his development.”
Rangers go into the international break having steadied the ship with back-to-back clean sheets following a 3-0 home defeat against Bristol City and a 7-1 humiliation at West Brom.
“Toni Leistner and Joel Lynch look like they can be a good partnership but there’s still a lot of work to do,” McClaren said.
