Mawson set for return to full training

Alfie Mawson is expected to start training with the Fulham squad next Tuesday.

Former Brentford defender Mawson, back in west London after a recent £15m move to Fulham from Swansea, has been recovering from a knee problem.

Tim Ream is also unavailable, leaving Fulham short of centre-backs for their opening matches of the Premier League campaign.

However, Whites boss Slavisa Jokanovic expects Mawson to step up his comeback next week and possibly be ready for selection early next month. 

“Mawson will start working with us next Tuesday,” Jokanovic said.

“We have some problems at centre-back. Tim didn’t work with us this week and also we’re still waiting for Mawson to start working with us.”
