Brentford confirm signing of Oxford United youngster

Brentford have confirmed the signing of teenager Canice Carroll from Oxford United.

West London Sport revealed earlier on Thursday that the Bees were set to sign Carroll, who is primarily a defender but can also play in midfield.

Carroll, 19, has moved for an undisclosed fee and has signed a two-year contract at Griffin Park with the option of a further year. He will initially play for Brentford’s B team.

The Republic of Ireland youth international has made 15 league appearances for Oxford since breaking into their first team.
