Transfer gossip: Mirror claim Fulham could go for Gayle
Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Fulham…
Fulham will try to sign striker Dwight Gayle from Newcastle if they are unable to agree a deal to buy Aleksandar Mitrovic from the Magpies, the Daily Mirror claim.
The Whites are edging towards the signing of Mitrovic, who impressed after joining them on loan from Newcastle in January.
But with reports claiming the deal is in doubt, the Mirror reckon Fulham could go for Gayle as an alternative.
The Sun, on the other hand, say Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose has been lined up as an alternative to Mitrovic.
Fulham have reportedly offered the Spanish club £26m for the Brazilian forward.
And the Evening Standard reckon Fulham have been told they will need to trigger the £35m release clause in David Lopez’s contract if they are to capture him.
Fulham have been in talks with Espanyol about a potential deal to sign the defensive midfielder.

Fulham are never going to spend £26m on Diop, even if they were to sell Sessegnon for £50m. I tend to believe these transfer speculations involving Fulham when/if they happen.
